From Setback to Set Up: Navigating Life's Unexpected Turns

You know, the universe has this uncanny way of throwing surprises our way, doesn't it? Today, I had one of those moments, and I feel compelled to share it with you. I want to be more transparent, more real, and connect with you on a deeper level. So, let's dive into it together.

I recently found out that a job opportunity I had been banking on didn't materialize. Now, I get it; setbacks happen all the time, but this one hit differently. It was a chance to return to a previous employer, a prospect that seemed promising, given the circumstances of my departure.

Throughout the process, I did what I always do—I asked the universe for two things. First, I asked for doors and windows to open, letting blessings pour in. Second, and this is the kicker, I asked the universe to remove anything or anyone hindering my path to achieving goals. Now, here's the catch—what if the universe removes something I had my heart set on?

When I received the news today, my immediate reaction was concern for the person delivering it. They didn't know I was in the dark; they thought I already had the answer. But then came that internal voice, the one spewing negativity—telling me I didn't deserve it, I knew it wasn't going to happen, and more. It was a flood of disappointment.

In that moment, I gave myself a pause. I allowed myself to feel the frustration and disappointment, acknowledging the pain. But here's the kicker—I chose not to stay there. I redirected that energy towards something productive.

Instead of dwelling on the setback, I channeled my emotions into a new venture. That's why I'm here, doing this podcast. I've been grappling with the direction the universe wants me to take, and perhaps, this setback is a set up for something greater.

Life is full of twists and turns. Doors close, windows shut, but it's our perspective that defines the outcome. Your setbacks can indeed be your set ups if you change your lens. You're going to encounter walls, obstacles, and challenges, but it's not about standing still; it's about finding a way around them.

Always bet on yourself. Even when it seems like nobody else believes in you, your belief in yourself is paramount. Faith without works is dead, and that means you've got to move. If you want to go to California, you won't get there sitting in your chair—you've got to start walking.

What's for you is for you. The universe will reveal what you need to see when the time is right. You may not have control over the timing, but you do have control over how you respond to the challenges around you.

So, walk away from this podcast with the understanding that every setback is an opportunity to set up something new. You have the strength, courage, and ability to pivot and overcome any obstacle. Always bet on yourself, and remember, you can achieve what you set out to achieve. The journey continues, my friend.
